The first & Other Stories store in Italy opened yesterday, at Corso Vittorio Emanuele 1 in Milan. It’s the new high-end store chain owned by the H&M group, and the store itself used to be an H&M shop. Similarities between the two brands end here, if you ask me. Will you come and take a look around with me?
They want to give the impression of an atelier: there are only few items, many are on display, there’s much room, many sales assistants and so on. However, most clothes and accessories look rather peculiar (not to say ugly), not for everyday wear, and the prices are a bit pretentious.
I liked the beauty department but nothing was original enough to be worth the price. A small note: the nail polish bottles (10 ml, € 7) look like they have a huge cap when closed. In fact, it’s only a name tag and the cap is just as tall as the bottle once opened (see picture).
Unfortunately, the pictures make the clothes look nicer, but I wasn’t particularly crazy about them. Anyway, if you want to take a closer look and maybe buy something, their official website is www.stories.com.
